cooler morning.  Stormed a good one last night.  A little drizzly and kinda muggy.  Lots of worms, snails and bugs out.  Felt pretty decent.

The plan was to do 60 on Mirror Lake Rd. Drove up a ways because I was going to drop water. I forgot there is no shoulder on the road and there was so much traffic so I scratched that idea and headed to East Canyon. By the time I started I was already hungry from all the driving. Ate some peanuts and headed up Big Mountain(5.5 miles for my own reference) back down and then did Emigration. I would have not had enough food for 60 so good thing I changed that.

Woah, Nelly Fertado! My legs took a beating from that 30 miles yesterday. Super sluggish this morning. Upper body tired too. Came home and did some ab ripper x. Still felt good to get out. Feels good to be eating better too. Fell off the nutrition last week.

City Creek
Up from the capital building in about 43:00. Added on an Avanues loop for 20. Pretty tough climb. Next time I do this I think I'll do it twice. Just for kicks.

AM- Bodyrock. 12 minutes of sweaty bliss. Perfect pick me up before work.

PM- Drove to Provo and did an impromptu 21 on the trail up to South Fork and back. Gorgeous up there with all the colors. Perfect temp. Felt awesome to feel strong going up the hills. Pretty sweet ride. I don't really miss Utah County biking though. SLC is so much better as far as shoulders go. Want to do alpine one last time before cold weather though.

I've been pretty tired this week so I wasn't expecting much better today. Felt good, it got harder.. and harder. Finished with a negative split so I'm happy about that. Took advantage of the water Salt Lake Running Co puts out. Love that they do that! Slowest mile 9:17, fastest 8:39, 8:47(mile 9 & 10 hill included)

Bodyrock full body & abs. Ran afterwards. Bangeter loop. Felt decent. No watch.
I believe that being healthy and sticking to doing something good for your body everyday is a tremendous help when life really sucks. It does for me at least. It's a lot easier to start the day when you've had an awesome sweat fest. Life sucks sometimes. Gotta keep goin'

Needed that escape.  Snuck away at lunch time. Temp was perfect and the trees were gorgeous.  So glad I went.

Bodyrock-

10/50 3 x's through

1) Sandbag Squat

2) Side to Side Jump

3) Pendulum

4) Half Burpee, Half Push-up

Good workout! Lots of plank action. Arms and legs were shaking by the half way point. I could really feel the Pendulum working the saddle bag area which is a hard area to get for me.

Damn that felt good! Started from Vivian Park. Took it pretty easy but felt strong. Such a good feeling to power up a mountain. It was so nice out. Colors are beautiful. Perfect weather. Ate lunch at sundance on the way back down. Such a good way to spend a beautiful autumn day.

Some of the colors going on in the mountains

Emigration from the zoo. Nice short Sunday ride. a bit of a head wind but the canyon is a blaze of color and so worth the ride! Pretty windy on the way down. Actually, very windy! I don't think I've ever rode in wind so strong.

Bodyrock.

Raining out so made it a gym day. 4x400's w/ 200 rests @ 7:30 pace. 4x200 w/ 100 rests @ 7:00 pace. track workouts are so much easier on the TM. To the girl staring at me like I'm disgusting: yeah, I'm sweating. I come to the gym to workout, not look cute. But you look really cute :0)

Emigration from Sugarhouse Park. Took it fairly easy. Perfect temp and weather on the way up. A bit windy on the way down. Loved it! I don't want this weather to end!

Saw these two before I started.  Cutest thing ever :0)

Stayed in Ogden with Josse. We got to the hotel and started setting all of our stuff set up for the morning and settled in. Just as we got everything ready we hear a new born start to wail in the next room. Josse was all 'oh nuh uh, I'm not listening to that all night' and switched rooms. Gathered up all our stuff and re-setup in our new room. Slept well! Ate a big breakfast and set out. Drank an expired EAS shake(by almost a year, thanks Macey's) on the bus ride up and half a banana w/ pb just before the start. Started right on time.

I knew what I wanted to do but I haven't been running a whole lot so I wasn't sure how it would go. My first goal was to run smart and not go out too fast. My second goal was to run around an 8:00/mile pace for around a 1:45:00 finish. I was two for two today! I stated out with a few friends and ran the first 2 with them then pulled away. I was feeling really comfortable and had to tell myself to stick with the plan and hold back. Started chatting with a girl and we ran together until around mile 11. She fell back at the water stop. I was still feeling really good and debating whether to pick it up more for the last two or keep consistent. I decided to keep it about the same. I was so nervous I would die like I did at The Hobbler. I didn't though. I'm happy with what I did. I met my goal and think that if I went any faster I would have fizzled at the end. Being strong feels good :0)
